Doctors of California, Inc. is a California professional medical corporation doing business as BodyLogicMD of Newport Beach. This policy describes how we handle information collected through this website and through the text message program we operate for our patients.
Your health information is separately protected. Protected health information created or received in the course of your care is governed by HIPAA and by the practice's Notice of Privacy Practices, which you receive from the practice directly. This policy covers this website and our text message program. Where the two overlap, the Notice of Privacy Practices governs your health information.
1. Information we collect
- Contact information you give us, such as your name, mobile number and email address.
- Consent records, including whether you agreed to receive text messages, and the date and time of that agreement.
- Technical information your browser sends when you visit this site, such as IP address, browser type and pages viewed.
This website is not a patient portal. Please do not submit medical history, symptoms, test results or any other clinical information through this site.
2. How we use information

- To contact you about appointments and your care
- To keep a record of your consent and of any opt out
- To operate, secure and improve this website
- To meet legal and regulatory obligations
3. Text messages and your mobile information
If you provide your mobile number and agree to receive text messages, we may send you appointment confirmations and reminders, follow up after a visit, and notices when you are due to be seen.
Message frequency varies and is typically no more than a few messages per month.
Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
You may reply STOP at any time to stop receiving text messages, or HELP for assistance. Agreeing to receive text messages is optional and is not a condition of receiving care.
We do not and will not share your mobile information with third party or affiliate entities for marketing or promotional purposes.
Mobile opt in data and consent are not shared with any third party. Text messaging originator opt in data and consent are not shared with any third party for any purpose other than the service providers that help us deliver the messages you asked to receive, and those providers may not use the information for their own purposes.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers who deliver messages or host this site on our behalf, under contract, and only as needed to provide that service
- Your care team, where sharing is part of providing your care
- Legal compliance, when we are required by law to disclose information
5. How long we keep information
We keep consent and opt out records for as long as needed to show that we had permission to contact you, and to honor your opt out. Other website information is kept only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold. No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Text messaging is not a secure channel. Do not send sensitive information by text, and do not use text messaging in an emergency. In a medical emergency, call 911.
7. Your choices and rights
- Stop text messages by replying STOP to any message, or by calling the practice
- Ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it
- California residents may have additional rights regarding personal information under California law, including the right to know, to delete, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights

8. Children
This website and our text message program are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 through this site.
9. Other websites
This site links to the practice website and may link to other sites we do not control. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

We may update this policy. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the effective date above is updated at the same time.
